Abstract

After independence in 1991, the higher education sector in Armenia started to reshape
autonomously. Many private and transnational educational institutions started to appear on the
Armenian educational market and cross-border education gained a tangible popularity. This
article surveys existing cross-border educational institutions in the country and their impact on
the educational landscape.

Tatevik Gharibyan

Tatevik Gharibyan is a senior higher education policy specialist at the
ministry of education and science of the Republic of Armenia, a 2016–
2017 Hubert H. Humphrey Fellow at Pennsylvania State University,
and a visiting scholar at the Center for International Higher Education,
Boston College, US.
