Abstract

Describes the characte1·istics, performance, and potential of SKED (Sort- Key Edit), a generalized computer program for creating sort keys for MARC II records at the users option. SKED and a modification of the IBM S/360 DOS tape sort/merge program form the basis for a comprehensive program for arranging catalog entries by computer.
