Abstract

Shanmugam examines the relevant and urgent issue of exorbitantly high pharmaceutical prices, particularly as it relates to patent law. Shanmugam’s essay starts by outlining the Hatch-Waxman Act and its implications, and then presents a balanced analysis of the effectiveness of Maryland’s HB 631 law to curb price-gouging of generic drugs.
