Connectivity of National Systems of Higher Education: Evidence from the U21 Rankings

Governments and business alike encourage universities to engage with external stakeholders. The annual Universitas21 rankings provide national measures of university connectivity. Research linkages with industry and with international authors are found to be particularly important. Country size influences the nature and degree of connectivity.
